Tyler learned an important lesson today. He came up to me over the weekend all excited because he had a new lego car that he wanted to show me. It didn’t look familiar and I asked him where he got the car. When he said he got it from school and I asked him if he asked anyone if he could “borrow” it he realized that he had done something wrong.
Sensing a need to nip the “sticky fingers” tendency in the bud, fast, I told him that it was not right to do this and that he should take the toy back on Monday and immediately apologize to the teacher. Just to make sure everything would go smoothly, I called his teacher Sunday night to say that Tyler would be talking with her.
Apparently this type of thing happens quite often so everything went off without a hitch today and Tyler seems to have taken his lesson to heart. Notch another life lesson in the tree of life and wonder what path he may have strayed down if we didn’t have our little talk.
