Jamie and Heather get married

One of my high school friends was getting married on a farm in Vermont. It was a mini-reunion of sorts.

The weather was spectacular, blue skies, great friends new & old, good grub and drink, and a funky local band set the stage for a perfect afternoon.

The kids had a blast.

Yours truly reads down the list of reasons why Jamie should marry Heather

Family in Vermont

After a week in Hawaii where we hooked up with the rest of the Takei Clan including the Great Grandma Nagao, the 84-year old matriarch – we hurried back home for a quick overnight rest and then hauled up North to Vermont to witness my old high school roommate restate his vows to his lovely wife Heather. Here we are all dressed up for the show at an old church right down the road from the Kidder farm.

Upon arrival we quickly took advantage of the Takei’s hot tub which overlooks the tropical breezes of the Pacific Ocean. . .

So we’re finally back to normal after a whirlwind of travel that took us to Hawaii and Vermont over the course of a week and a half. Here are the kids getting ready for their week in the sun.

Luau > Vermont

We just got back from a week and a half holiday that took us to Hawaii (where we whooped it up at the Royal Luau with Great-Grandmother Takei) and Corinth, Vermont where we danced under the stars in celebration of Jamie and Heather’s wedding. Jamie Kidder is my old high-school roommate.

Amtrak

I’m writing this on the train ride from hell on the way home from a three day trip to Boston. I thought I’d be clever and take Amtrak because their high speed Acela trains have electric outlets so while viewing the New England coastline slip by I could catch up on my email backlog.

Little did I realize how badly I would need that outlet – it’s now going on six hours and I’m still in Connecticut! Crying babies and a second engine change later and I thank the lord above that I brought my MD Walkman to keep me sane. My train is called the Silver Meteor – little did they realize how apt that name is – we’ve been crashing and burning our way south and are on our third engine.

Julia

Julia doesn’t quite have the card up the right way around but she was happy to get it.

Thank you for the kind card Richard & Diedre!
